In de zomer bezocht ik in Engeland een tentoonstelling over recycling: kunstige dingen gemaakt van afval, zoals plastic zakjes, blikjes, drankkartons en versleten autobanden. Op het eind van die tentoonstelling was een muur vol briefjes, waarop bezoekers hun eigen goede recycling-voornemens konden schrijven. Ik heb er toen een gefotografeerd om te onthouden:
"I will recycle my drawings". Vandaag heb ik allerlei tekeningen bij elkaar gezocht waar ik op de een of andere manier (nog) niet tevreden over ben. En morgen ga ik daar tijdens mijn
experimenteerdag grafische technieken overheen drukken. Benieuwd wat eruit komt!
During my summer holiday I visited an exhibition about recycling. It showed all kinds of fabulous objects that were made out of thrown away things like plastic bags, tin cans, and old car tires. In the end there was a wall full of notes with good intentions by visitors, about their own recycling habits. I photographed one to remember: "I will recycle my drawings". Today I gathered some drawings that I'm not satisfied about (yet) and tomorrow I will recycle them: I will print over them in different techniques during my graphic experimenting workshop. Already curious about the outcome!
