Deze sprinkhaan vond ik een tijdje geleden in de auto, helemaal mooi opgedroogd met ingetrokken pootjes. Ik heb hem bewaard in een jampotdeksel, om ooit nog eens te tekenen. Vandaag was hij aan de beurt.
Insects are a parallel universe, from their side they intersect with us only through needle stings. I did quite a few sketches of insects, both dead and alive. Then I started making them up: it was fun, and fantasy came relatively easy in insects. But certainly here (as more often) fantasy does not easily compete with reality. Look closely at them! LK
Hey Kees, nice to see you here! As for (dead) insects: I found an interesting specimen this sunday in my sketchbook, already squashed and two-dimensional, waiting to be drawn. All I had to do was enlarge it (see today's entry)...
