Vorige maand was ik tijdens mijn vakantie ook vier dagen op het festival ‘Le Son Continu’ Dit festival vol traditionele muziek wordt elk jaar gehouden rond 14 juli bij Château d'Ars in Lourouer-Saint-Laurent (Frankrijk). Je vindt er instrumentbouwers uit heel Europa en veel, heel veel muziek en dans. ‘Le Son Continu’ betekent letterlijk het voortdurende geluid, of het aanhoudende geluid. Bijvoorbeeld een bourdontoon zoals doedelzakken en draailieren die produceren in volksmuziek. Die waren hier dan ook volop aanwezig, dus daar begin ik mee. Morgen meer (er waren ook genoeg andere instrumenten)!
Last month I spent four days sketching at the festival ‘Le Son Continu’ in France. This is an annual festival of traditional music with luthiers from around Europe and lots of music and dance. ‘Le Son Continu’ literally means ‘the continuous sound’, which refers to the drone that especially bagpipes and hurdy-gurdies produce. So these are the sketches I show here first, although I made lots more (there were plenty of other instruments too)!
